     AN ACT relating to medical parole of prisoners.
     Amend KRS 439.3405 to require crime victim and prosecutorial notice for medical parole hearings.

HB 191 - AMENDMENTS


     SCS/LM - Retain original provisions; create a new section of KRS Chapter 441 to permit a local jail to transfer a prisoner to the Department of Corrections for specialized or long-term medical care; create a new section of KRS Chapter 441 to require insurance carriers to pay for medical care of their insured when in a county jail and not a prisoner of the state; create a new section of KRS Chapter 441 to use the state pharmacy and medical, dental, or psychological care access plans unless they can secure equal or better plan at less cost; create a noncodified section to provide up to $1 million to Department of Corrections for medical care access plan and $1.5 million to Department of Corrections, if needed as a necessary governmental expense from existing budgetary expenditures.
