AN ACT relating to a health insured's right to obtain an estimate of his or her liability from an insurer.
Create a new section of Subtitle 17A of KRS Chapter 304 to require a health insurer to make a good faith effort to provide the insured with information on estimated potential costs for a specified procedure or service within 14 business days; provide that the insurer will not be bound by the estimate and will not be responsible for any costs incurred outside of the estimate; permit compliance by making estimated cost information available on the insurer's Web site.
