HB 440 (BR 1739) - L. Belcher, T. Edmonds, K. Hall, T. McKee

     AN ACT relating to school attendance.
     Amend KRS 157.320 to change the definition of "average daily attendance" to include an adjustment for illness-related low attendance days; define "illness-related low attendance day"; permit a district to submit a request to substitute the prior year's average daily attendance for illness-related low-attendance days to the commissioner of education; and require the Kentucky Board of Education to promulgate administrative regulations.

     HCS - Delete original provisions; amend definition of "average daily attendance" to mean the aggregate days attended by pupils divided by the actual number of days school is in session, after 10 days with the lowest attendance have been deducted; delete reference to and definitions of "weather related low attendance day."
