HB 76/LM/CI (BR 134) - T. Thompson, J. Glenn

     AN ACT relating to motor vehicle accidents.
     Amend KRS 189.990 to increase the penalty for leaving the scene of an accident where death or serious physical injury is involved to a Class C felony; amend KRS 304.99-060 to provide for a mandatory 30 day minimum sentence for a person involved in an automobile accident involving death or serious physical injury who does not have the required insurance coverage.

HB 76 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Amend to change the level of the offense from a Class C felony to a Class D felony and to remove the mandatory minimum sentence provision relating to persons driving without insurance.

     HFA (1, T. Thompson) - Amend to add requirement that the driver knew or should have known of the death or serious physical injury.
