     AN ACT relating to the Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky and declaring an emergency.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 164 to create the Academy of Mathematics and Science at Western Kentucky University; describe purposes and long-term goals; require advisory board be established; define role of Western Kentucky University; require academy students to participate in the state accountability testing program and have scores reported to home high schools; amend KRS 157.360 to identify how SEEK funds will be used in support of students at the academy; amend KRS 158.140 to authorize the academy to award diplomas and local school districts to award joint diplomas; amend definitions in KRS 164.002 to conform; amend KRS 164.7874 to ensure that academy students qualify to earn KEES awards; specify that the first students will be enrolled with the 2007-2008 academic year; EMERGENCY.
