AN ACT relating to dental services.
Amend KRS 313.240 to permit dentists to practice under a name other than their own if they have contracted to perform continuing operations for a deceased or incapacitated dentist; delete the provision that prohibits a person from participating in more than three professional service organizations; create a new section of KRS Chapter 313 to permit representatives of a deceased or incapacitated dentist to contract with another dentist or dentists to continue the operations of the deceased or incapacitated dentist's practice for up to one year; require notification to the Board of Dentistry prior to contracting for continuation of services; prohibit interference with the practice of dentistry or professional judgment of contracting dentists; require notification to the deceased or incapacitated dentist's patients of record within 30 days of the death or incapacitation.
SB 26 - AMENDMENTS
SFA (1, R. Stivers II) - Eliminate 1-year time limit on contracts to continue the operation of a deceased or incapacitated dentist's practice.
SFA (2, J. Denton) - Amend Section 2 to extend the time limit on contracts to continue the operation of dental services until the practice is sold; provide that any other violation of the chapter is grounds for an immediate termination of the operations of the dental practice; make technical corrections throughout.
