     AN ACT relating to health insurance coverage for a dependent child.
     Create a new section of Subtitle 17A of KRS Chapter 304 to define "dependent"; require a health benefit plan that provides coverage for an insured's dependent under which coverage of the dependent terminates at a certain age before the dependent's thirtieth birthday to, upon application by the dependent, provide coverage to the dependent until his or her thirtieth birthday; provide that an employer shall not be required by this section to pay all or part of the cost of the coverage for a dependent under this section; permit the dependent to make a written election at the prescribed time before his or her thirtieth birthday to be covered until his or her thirtieth birthday; permit a dependent for twelve months after the effective date of this section to make a written election to reinstate coverage under a plan as a dependent if the dependent's coverage as a dependent under a health benefit plan terminated prior to the effective date of this section; create a new section of Subtitle C of KRS Chapter 304 to require limited health service benefit plans to comply with the provisions of Section 1 of this Act; amend KRS 304.17-310 to conform.
