     AN ACT relating to public employee insurance plans.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 61 to define a "public agency" as any agency participating in a state-administered retirement system or plan, any agency participating in the state health insurance plan, or any public institution subject to the provisions of KRS Chapter 164; define "family member" as the employee's spouse, natural or adopted children, stepchildren, children for whom legal guardianship has been awarded, children for whom the employee or employee's spouse has a legal obligation to provide for health-care expenses, and children, parents, grandparents, brothers, or sisters claimed as dependent's on the employee's federal tax return; require public agencies to allow the employee to only select health insurance coverage for the employee and family members of the employee.
