AN ACT relating to student accommodations in distinctly private facilities.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 160 to require a local board of education to grant reasonable accommodation to any student or employee unwilling or unable to use a multiple-occupancy restroom, changing facility, or sleeping quarter reserved for his or her sex; require that any multiple-occupancy restroom or changing facility within the control of a local board of education or public school, and available for student use, be designated for the exclusive use of a single sex; require that any multiple-occupancy sleeping quarter of a student on an overnight school-sponsored activity be reserved for persons of a single sex; create a private cause of action for any person damaged as a result of a violation of the section; provide that subsections (1), (2), and (4) may not be severed; and provide that the section may be cited as the Students' Right to Privacy Act.
