AN ACT relating to personalized license plates.
Amend KRS 186.174, regarding personalized license plates, to have personalized plates expire on the last day of the birth month of the applicant, rather than on December 31st of each year; set forth schedule for transition to a new expiration date for current license holders; set the replacement schedule for personalized license to match that for regular plates; amend KRS 186.164 to conform.
AMENDMENTS
HFA1( L. Bechler ) - Specify that personalized license plates that expire 12/31/18 and are renewed for 2019 shall pay a prorated registration based on the number of months the registration is valid for in 2019; eliminate new language that specifies that a personalized plate must be renewed 30 days prior to the date of expiration.
