AN ACT relating to youth status in relation to substances and violence.
Create new sections of KRS Chapter 222, to define terms including "Desired outcomes", "Division", "Long-range goal", "Substance", and "Survey"; create the "Kentucky Kids STATUS ON SUBSTANCES (S.O.S.), A Biennial Fact-Finding Survey by the Commonwealth of Kentucky"; set forth the purpose of the survey to include assessing the impact of substances and violence in terms of risk to the health, safety, education, development, and well-being of Kentucky youths and to provide objective data for consideration in planning and evaluating state substance prevention policies and programs; establish a timetable for administering the Survey in every Kentucky county to a sample of students; provide for the collection, analysis, summarization, and availability of the survey data in statewide and county reports; require the Division to establish the procedures and instruments for administering the survey by an administrative regulation.
