     AN ACT relating to amusement rides and attractions and declaring an emergency.
     Create a new section of KRS 247 to require every person engaged in the for-profit business of providing temporary amusement attractions within the same county or within five miles of any public fair or exposition sanctioned by the Department of Agriculture and operated by a public fair association to pay a license fee of $2,000 to the fiscal court for each day of operation, within the time period of forty-five days before and fifteen days after the sanctioned fair, if the temporary attraction is not operating in connection with the public fair; except a public fair sanctioned by the Department of Agriculture in contiguous counties, or those operating under the authority of a religious or educational organization; EMERGENCY

HB 329 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Retain substantial provisions of the original bill; shorten the time period in which any person providing an amusement attraction must pay a fee if operating the attraction near the time of a sanctioned public fair or exposition; exempt from provisions of the Act, any nonprofit or charitable organization or any organization that has operated in the Commonwealth in the years 1995, 1996, or 1997, including clown acts, local festivals, and amusement or entertainment shows with six or fewer kiddie rides.
