AN ACT relating to health insurance.
Create a new section of Subtitle 17A of KRS Chapter 304 to require health benefit plans to cover diabetes; require diabetes outpatient self-management training and education to be provided by a certified, registered, or licensed health care provider with expertise in diabetes; provide that diabetes shall not be considered to be a pre-existing condition; require the benefits for diabetes to be subject to the same deductibles and coinsurance that apply to other benefits in the plan.
HB 380 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain original provisions except require training and education to be provided by health care "professional" rather than "provider," as deemed necessary by "health care provider" rather than "commissioner of administrative regulation"; delete requirement that diabetes shall not be considered a pre-existing condition and add new requirement that the provisions be enforced by the Attorney General.
SCA (1, D. Seum) - Retain original provisions except delete requirement of enforcement by the Attorney General.
