HB 392 (BR 1645) - M. Long

     AN ACT relating to the selection of underwriters and bond counsel firms.
     Amend KRS 45A.847 to provide that people on the underwriters and bond counsel selection committee in the OFMEA office are appointed; amend KRS 45A.850 to include the State Property and Buildings Commission in the list of agencies for which the selection committee chooses underwriters and bond counsel firms; provide that more than one underwriter and bond counsel firms may be chosen for each agency; amend KRS 45A.853 to provide that a firm's prequalification shall remain in effect for 24 months instead of 12; specify what the selection committee is to do at its second meeting; amend KRS 45A.857 to provide that a minimum of two firms are to be selected; provide that if the executive director does not agree with the selection made by the selection committee, that he shall state his reasons in writing for agreeing or not agreeing with the selection of the second ranked firm; amend KRS 45A.860 to conform.
