AN ACT relating to education.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 158, to define home study program; require the parent or guardian to submit a declaration of intent to provide a home study program within 30 days after its establishment and annually thereafter; require the parent to possess a high school diploma or a general educational development equivalency diploma; amend KRS 159.030 to exempt students enrolled and in regular attendance in a home study program from the requirements relating to compulsory school attendance; amend KRS 159.040 to require home study programs to keep attendance and make regular scholarship reports; amend KRS 158.080 to require that home study program instruction be in English and in certain subjects.
