AN ACT relating to visitation rights and declaring an emergency.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 403 to prohibit a court from requiring a child to visit a parent who committed first degree murder against the child's other parent without the permission of the child.
HB 489 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Delete the provisions of the bill; require that if a parent of a child murders the other parent, the murderer shall not have visitation with the child unless the murderer meets the burden of proving that visitation is in the child's best interest; require that jurisdiction to determine visitation rights shall lie in the Circuit Court of the county where the child resides.
