HB 50 (BR 237) - J. Vincent, B. Colter, M. Rader

     AN ACT relating to school personnel.
     Amend KRS 161.185 to allow nonfaculty coaches to accompany students on school-sponsored or school-endorsed trips.

HB 50 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Require a nonfaculty coach or nonfaculty assistant be at least 21 years of age, not be a violent offender or convicted of a sex crime, as defined by KRS 17.165, have a criminal record check, and successfully complete specified training by the local school district.
     HFA (1, B. Yonts) - Grant nonfaculty coaches and assistants the same authority and responsibilities granted to teachers when performing similar duties; require the Kentucky Board of Education to assign the school bus drivers' responsibilities by administrative regulation.
