HB 510 (BR 464) - C. Hoffman, J. Jenkins, E. Jordan, T. McKee
AN ACT relating to dangerous wildlife.
Amend KRS 150.010 to change the definition of protected wildlife; amend KRS 150.280 to require the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources to identify wildlife inherently dangerous to human health and safety and native ecosystems; prohibit wildlife potentially damaging to native ecosystems; create a new section of Chapter 65 to enable county, city, urban county, or charter county governments to regulate or prohibit wildlife inherently dangerous to human health and safety.
HB 510 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain original provisions; list dangerous species of wildlife in the bill rather than requiring the department to declare dangerous species by administrative regulation.
SCS - Remove orangutans, chimpanzees, honey badgers, gibbons, macaques, and certain snakes from list of animals denied transportation permits; add wolverines to the list.
