AN ACT relating to counties and making an appropriation therefor.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 67 to create the Commission on County Consolidation to study the present situation of counties, and to develop a plan to consolidate the counties in Kentucky to a number not greater than 70 by the year 2020; create a new section of KRS Chapter 67 to establish membership of commission; create a new section of KRS Chapter 67 to establish operating procedures of commission; create a new section of KRS Chapter 67 to attach it to the Department of Local Government; create a new section of KRS Chapter 67 to make appropriation to commission.
HB 682 - AMENDMENTS
HFA (1, J. Clarke) - Delete provision to require 70 to be the minimum number of counties, and allow the Commission on County Consolidation to determine the best minimum number of counties for Kentucky.
