HB 707 (BR 2287) - E. Jordan

     AN ACT relating to civil rights.
     Amend KRS 344.050 and 344.120, relating to the Commission on Human Rights, to update references to forms of discrimination; amend KRS 344.200 to delete thirty day time limit on the Commission's determination of probable cause after filing of a complaint of an unlawful practice other than housing discrimination; amend KRS 344.210 to require service of notice on the respondent within sixty days after the Commission determines that there is probable cause to believe the respondent has engaged in an unlawful practice.

HB 707 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Amend KRS 344.020 relating to civil rights allegations to increase the time for determining probable cause in a civil rights case from 30 to 240 days.
     SCS - Exempt from the civil rights statutes places of public accommodation, resort, or amusement which are used for nonprofit worship and recreational activities and facilities of a religious corporation, group, association, or society.
     SFA (1, E. Tori) - Amend KRS 344.200 to change the time for determining probable cause in a civil rights case from 30 days to 90 days, rather than from 30 days to 240 days.
