AN ACT relating to unobstructed windshields on motor vehicles.
Amend KRS 189.110, relating to unobstructed windshields on motor vehicles, to allow tinted windows on motor vehicles to have a light transmittance of at least 30%, rather than 35% and require that percentage to include the existing glazing to which the sunscreen tinting material is applied.
HB 741 - AMENDMENTS
HFA (1, P. Marcotte) - Retain the provisions of the original bill with the following change: add a new Section 2 to amend KRS 189.990 to allow a court to dismiss a first offense conviction against a person who violates KRS 189.110 if the person provides the court evidence that the sunscreening material has been reduced to comply with the provisions of this Act.
HCA (1, J. Lee) - Add a new Section 2 to provide that a driver whose window tinting is too dark shall be issued a courtesy warning for a first offense if the driver presents proof to a court that the tinting has been reduced to comply with the provisions of this Act.
