AN ACT relating to alcohol and drug counselors.
     Amend various sections of KRS Chapter 309 to create the Committee for Oversight of Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification which will recommend to the board a standard curriculum for all educational institutions offering a degree in alcohol and drug counseling; allow the board to approve and disapprove degree curricula submitted by educational institutions; allow those in good standing with one (1) of four (4) national or international counseling associations to qualify for certification; require certificate holders to be mental health professionals or the equivalent; and authorize the board to grant reciprocal certification to applicants from other states.
