AN ACT relating to the school term, and declaring an emergency.
     Amend KRS 158.070 to set a minimum school term of the equivalent of 185 six-hour days; require that school districts that adopted a calendar for the 1997-98 school year in which the 1050 hours of instruction was completed in less than 175 days shall not be required to work more than 4 in-service days, 2 days for opening and closing school, and be paid for 4 holidays; amend KRS 157.320, 157.350, 157.360, 157.420, 158.080, and 161.500 to conform; EMERGENCY.
