     AN ACT relating to sales and use tax exemptions.
     Amend KRS 139.480 to exempt from the sales and use tax fuel used for on-farm facilities; update in-text references to the definitions of "special fuels" and "agricultural purposes"; delay effective date to August 1, 1998.

SB 17 - AMENDMENTS


     SCS - Retain original provisions of the Act except delete former amendments that included fuel and heating systems in various exemptions and reword the exemption relating to fuel to state that gasoline, special fuels, and liquefied petroleum gas used "exclusively and directly" to operate farm machinery, on-farm grain and soybean facilities, on-farm poultry or livestock facilities, on-farm ratite facilities, on-farm llama and alpaca facilities, and on-farm dairy facilities shall not be included in provisions relating to retail sales; delete the sunset clause ending the exemption for embryos and semen and llamas and alpacas.
