SB 282 (BR 1970) - E. Harris
AN ACT relating to cruelty to animals in the second degree.
Repeal KRS 525.130 relating to cruelty to animals in the second degree, reenact it as a new section of KRS 436, and amend it to increase the upper limit of the fine to $5,000.
SB 282 - AMENDMENTS
SCS - Retain the original version but lower the maximum fine to $1000 and, if mutilation occurred, allow the fine to be set up to $2500.
SCA (1, D. Kelly) - Make technical correction.
SFA (2, E. Harris) - Maintain original provisions of the Act; amend KRS 436.610 to change the confiscation of animals by a dog warden from a duty to a privilege; designate that other animals rather than all animals may be confiscated.
SFA (3, E. Harris) - Retain original provisions of the Act; exclude acts performed upon animals for animal husbandry, standardized cosmetic alteration, or veterinarian procedures.
