AN ACT relating to state holidays.
Amend KRS 18A.190 to declare Veterans Day as an observed state holiday and delete the second observed day off for New Years.
SB 33 - AMENDMENTS
HFA (1/FN, J. Barrows) - Reinstate the mandatory extra day observed in conjunction with the first day of January.
HFA (2, M. Long) - Allow each state employee the option of one day off on either Veterans' Day or on the second observed day for New Years, with state offices to be open both days.
HFA (3, J. Barrows) - Reinstate the mandatory extra day observed in conjunction with the first day of January; make technical corrections.
HFA (4, E. Ballard) - Make technical correction.
HFA (5, J. Vincent) - Restore the extra day at New Years and delete Presidents' Day.
HFA (6, J. Barrows) - Delete entire provisions in the bill and direct the Department of Personnel to conduct a study of state employees and propose recommendations of potential additions or changes to statutory holidays; require the Department of Personnel to report to the Interim Joint Committee on State Government no later than its November 1998 interim meeting on the recommendations.
