AN ACT relating to the operation of motorcycles.
Amend KRS 189.285 to make the wearing of a helmet optional for motorcycle passengers over the age of twenty-one (21) and motorcycle operators over the age of twenty-one (21) who have had a motorcycle operator's license for at least one (1) year; prohibit motorcycle operator with an instruction permit from carrying passengers, make technical corrections.
SB 38 - AMENDMENTS
SFA (1, D. Karem) - Amend to provide that a person over 21 operating a motorcycle without wearing protective headgear shall not be eligible for payment for any of the costs of injury, impairment, or disability by any program of medical assistance under KRS Chapter 205, any trust funds for persons who are brain-injured under KRS Chapter 211, any disproportionate share or indigent care fund partially or fully funded by the state, or any other source of state funds or federal funds administered by the state.
