AN ACT relating to the judicial branch.
Amend KRS 24A.030 to remove Cumberland and Monroe Counties from the Twenty-Nineth Judicial District, and to place them in a newly created Sixtieth Judicial District: amend KRS 24A.050 to reduce the number of District Judges in the Twenty-Nineth Judicial District from 2 to 1; create noncodified provision providing that candidates who have filed for the office of District Judge in the affected districts shall be deemed to have filed for the district judgeship in the judicial district where they reside.

HCS - Amend KRS 23A.040, relating to judicial circuits with two judges, to provide a second circuit judge for the 29th judicial circuit (Adair, Cumberland, Casey, and Monroe Counties), contingent upon funding in the 1998 budget.
