AN ACT relating to legislative compensation.
     Amend KRS 6.190, 6.213, and 6A.020 to increase legislators' per diem salaries, effective with the next terms of office, from $100 to $151; increase legislative leaders' salaries by the same multiplier; effective January 1, 1999, increase legislators' interim monthly expense allowance from $950 to $1,435; require expense allowance to be used for expenses incident to performance of legislative duties; permit the General Assembly to adjust the per diem salary and interim allowance by appropriations in the legislative branch budget using the consumer price index formula applied to elected executive branch officers' salaries under KRS 64.480; direct the LRC Director to include adjustments in branch budget requests and recommendations; require inclusion of adjustments in final budget memorandum unless appropriations are denied.
