SB 58 (BR 529) - J. Pendleton

     AN ACT relating to protection of and counseling for child victims.
     Amend KRS 431.600 to limit child sexual abuse investigations by Cabinet for Human Resources social workers to those cases prescribed in KRS 620.040; add "other team members" to the categories of parties required to minimize the involvement of the child in certain legal proceedings.

SB 58 - AMENDMENTS


     SCS - Clarify that Cabinet for Human Resources social workers shall assist in all child sexual abuse investigations, but shall be the lead investigators only for cases falling under KRS 600.020.
     HFA (1, T. Burch) - Create a new section of KRS Chapter 18A to allow the Commissioner of the Department of Personnel, upon the recommendation of the Secretary of the Cabinet for Human Resources, to extend until June 30, 2000, portions of pilot programs developed and approved for the purpose of maintaining a pool of available applicants for family services workers positions and the alternative classification and pay system; authorize the Cabinet for Human Resources to promulgate administrative regulations to implement the section.
