SB 66 (BR 1064) - D. Boswell, B. Jackson
AN ACT relating to community improvement.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 65 to establish the Community Improvement Grant Program in the Department of Local Government; set grant amount limits at $75,000; require the grants to be administered by the Division of Community Programs in the Department of Local Government; specify that all cities and counties are eligible; require applicants to match an amount equal to 20% of the total project cost; require applicant to submit its application to the appropriate are development district whose board of directors shall be responsible for prioritizing the applications and making recommendations to the Director of Community Programs; specify information needed on application form; require completion of projects awarded under this program in fifteen (15) months; require grant recipients to follow the procurement code of the county in which the grant is awarded unless the recipient agency has written more stringent procurement guidelines; authorize the Department of Local Government to promulgate administrative regulations for the implementation of the Community Improvement Grant Program; amend KRS 147A.021 to conform; and repeal KRS 42.345 to 42.370, and 48.185.
