AN ACT relating to kinship care for children.
Amend KRS 605.120 to permit financial assistance to relative custodians in lieu of placement of a child in foster care; require administrative regulations to include eligibility requirements, payment rates, reimbursement of legal costs, and services to the caregiver and the child; amend KRS 610.010(6) to permit District Court to make awards of custody for kinship care.

SCS/FN - Retain original provisions except delete language relating to financial assistance to relative caregivers; add that placement with relative may occur due to abuse, neglect, or death of both parents.
