AN ACT relating to crimes and punishments and naming the statute "Bryan's Law".
Amend KRS 507.020 relating to murder to specify that leaving a child under 8 years of age in a motor vehicle without an attendant at least 16 years of age may constitute murder if the child dies; amend KRS 508.010 relating to assault in the first degree to specify that leaving a child under 8 years of age in a motor vehicle without an attendant at least 16 years of age may constitute assault in the first degree if the child suffers serious physical injury as a result thereof; amend KRS 508.060 relating to wanton endangerment in the first degree to specify that leaving a person with a physical or mental disability precluding taking self protected actions or leaving a child under 8 years of age in a motor vehicle without an attendant at least 16 years of age may be wanton endangerment in the first degree.
HB 116 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/CI - Delete provisions of the bill; establish manslaughter in the second degree when a person wantonly causes the death of another through the operation of a motor vehicle or the death of a child by leaving that child in a motor vehicle.
HFA (1/Title, R. Palmer) - Amend the title to change the title to read "AN ACT relating to crimes and punishments and naming the statute "Bryan's Law."
