AN ACT relating to high school instruction in comparative religion.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 158 to require public high schools to provide an elective course in comparative religion beginning in the 2001-2002 school year; provide guidelines and objectives for comparative religion courses; permit the use of religious scriptural texts as student learning materials; and require the Kentucky of Department of Education to develop curriculum guidelines, incorporate comparative religion within the program of studies, and develop professional development programs for comparative religion.
