AN ACT relating to farm milk.
Amend various sections and creates new sections of KRS 260.775 to 260.845 to update production and handling procedures for milk; establish licensing procedure; and amend various sections to conform; establish unlawful practices in handling procedures for milk; and amend various sections to conform; require record keeping on milk production and handling procedures; establish bulk milk tank calibration procedures; create inspection fee and amend various sections on license fees to conform; amend powers of director to oversee; amend duties of board; establish meeting time and procedures of board; amend penalties; create a short title; EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2001.
HB 386 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/FN - Amend Section 13 for a technical change; Amend Section 20 by changing one of the board members to the branch manager of the Milk Safety Branch of the Cabinet for Health Services; Amend section 22, which adds actions that the director may take against violators of the Act in subsections 1,2,3 and in subsection 4 strike the first phrase and amend to have appeals be heard by the director instead of the board.
HCA (1, H. Moberly) - Amend to delete the provisions requiring milk calibration be evaluated every six years and provide that they be evaluated by the Department of Agriculture or at the request of the director of the permitted producer.
HFA (1, M. Treesh) - Amend various sections of bill to prevent unknown violations in handling milk from inaccurately calibrated bulk milk tanks; requires licensed bulk milk handlers, sampler-weighers and transfer stations to report knowledge of inaccurately calibrated bulk milk tanks.
