     AN ACT relating to rape crisis centers.
     Create new sections of KRS Chapter 211 to require the Cabinet for Health Services to designate 1 nonprofit corporation in each area development district to serve as the regional rape crisis center; require the center to provide crisis counseling, mental health support services, advocacy, consultation, public education, and training of professionals; permit the secretary of the cabinet to make grants to assist the corporation in the establishment of the center; require the center to establish a board; establish the duties of a center board; provide for confidentiality of center records that identify a client; amend KRS 216B.015 to define "sexual assault examination facility"; amend KRS 216B.400 to permit examination of sexual offense victim to be performed in a sexual assault examination facility; amend KRS 314.011 to conform.

HB 448 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS/FN - Retain original provisions; clarify that definition of "sexual assault examination facility" applies to licensed health care facility as defined by chapter.
     HFA (1, J. Jenkins) - Clarify that section relating to a sexual assault examination that is conducted in an emergency situation and that is reimbursable by the Attorney General only relates to an examination of the sexual assault victim.
