HB 893/LM (BR 1940) - A. Simpson
AN ACT relating to county judges/executive.
Amend KRS 67.710(7) to provide that county judges/executive shall exercise with the approval of the fiscal court the authority to appoint, suspend, and remove all county personnel, except for department heads; amend KRS 67.711 to specify that the county judge/executive shall appoint department heads; provide that department heads may be removed at the county judge/executives' discretion without the approval of the fiscal court.
HB 893 - AMENDMENTS
HCA (1, A. Simpson) - Amend printed copy of HB 893 to define "department head" as any management employee with responsibilities for supervising employees segregated within the county budget as a department or office under the jurisdiction of the county judge/executive and the fiscal court; specify that the title "department head" shall not apply to elected officials.
HFA (1, A. Simpson) - Amend to specify that county judge/executives' responsibilities include the hiring and supervision of all fiscal court personnel; restore original language to require fiscal courts fix compensation for deputy county judge/executive and other personnel.
