AN ACT relating to the repayment of student loans of assistant attorneys general, assistant Commonwealth's attorneys, assistant county attorneys, and public defenders, and creating a method of payment therefor.
     Amend KRS 23A.205 and KRS 24A.175 to increase court costs in criminal cases by five dollars; establish program supervised by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority to provide reimbursement to assistant Commonwealth's attorneys, assistant county attorneys, and public defenders for the payment of student loan expenses; require eligible attorneys to commit to two-year increments of employment; require the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance to promulgate regulations to implement these provisions and establish an application process.
