AN ACT relating to nonpublic schools.
Create new sections of KRS Chapter 158 to define home study program, to require nationally norm-referenced testing for home study students, and to require notification of intent to provide a new home study program two weeks before the school term begins or two weeks before the home study course is to commence during the school term; require high school diploma or high school equivalent diploma or a score on the Test of Adult Basic Education equal to level being taught; create a new section of KRS Chapter 158 to require the Department of Education to do a census report on nonpublic and public school enrollments; require the director of pupil personnel to visit a home study program under certain conditions to check attendance and scholarship reports or arrange a site at which they may be checked; create new section of KRS Chapter 159 to provide definitions regarding home study programs, and private, nonpublic, church, and parochial schools; amend KRS 159.030, 159.040, and 159.160 to conform.
