AN ACT relating to firearms.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 237 to require storage of firearms in a safe manner to prevent unauthorized use by children and to provide Class A misdemeanor penalty and civil liability for violation; create new section of KRS Chapter 237 to require posting of notice of safe firearms storage; create a new section of KRS Chapter 533 to permit a court to require persons who violate firearms storage provisions to attend firearm safety or hunter education course; create a new section of KRS Chapter 158 to encourage schools to adopt a firearm safety program meeting the National Rifle Association Eddie Eagle requirement; amend KRS 237.115 relating to carrying concealed weapons to conform; repeal KRS 65.870, which prohibits local firearms ordinances.
