SJR 68 (BR 1904) - D. Seum, J. Pendleton, L. Casebier, R. Roeding, J. Rose, K. Stine, J. Westwood

     Urge the Kentucky Congressional Delegation to support a change to the federal Clean Air Act to allow the state to opt out of the reformulated gasoline program and direct the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet to determine the presence of MTBE in the state's drinking water, to develop drinking water standards for MTBE, and to report to the Interim Joint Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources by January 1, 2001.

SJR 68 - AMENDMENTS


     SFA (1, D. Seum) - Delete reference to dropping out of the reformulated gasoline program of the Clean Air Act and limit applicability to banning of MTBE only
     SFA (2, D. Boswell) - Delete a reference to Kentucky dropping out of the RFG program and insert that a phase-out of MTBE is supported; revise the reference to the development of drinking water standards to declare that the state will follow the lead of the U.S. EPA.
     HFA (1/P, D. Sims) - Retain the provisions of the GA version of the resolution and attach the provisions of the House committee substitute to House Joint Resolution 134; amend to include coal and coal technology.
     HFA (2/Title, D. Sims) - Amend the title to read as follows: "A JOINT RESOLUTION relating to fuel."
