     AN ACT relating to persons with disabilities.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 7 to require the Legislative Research Commission or General Assembly to place, subject to available funding, a person with a disability on any board, task force, or commission; require, subject to funding, that all programs, services, and activities include outreach and recruitment efforts to ensure that persons with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate; require staff development programs to include a disability awareness component; require program evaluation criteria to include the number of individuals served; amend KRS 7.1105 to conform; create a new section of KRS 12.450 to 12.465 to require the executive branch, or community-based agency that receives funding from the executive branch, to employ a person with a disability in decision-making positions in every program, cabinet, department, and agency of state government, subject to funding; require, subject to funding, that all programs, services, and activities include outreach and recruitment efforts to ensure that persons with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate; require staff development programs to include a disability awareness component; require program evaluation criteria to include the number of individuals served; amend KRS 12.460 to require the executive branch to include a person with a disability on any board, committee, task force, or commission; amend KRS 12.465 to conform; create a new section of KRS Chapter 26A to require the judicial branch to employ a person with a disability in decision-making positions in every program, cabinet, department, and agency of state government, subject to funding; require, subject to funding, that all programs, services, and activities include outreach and recruitment efforts to ensure that persons with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate; require staff development programs to include a disability awareness component; require program evaluation criteria to include the number of individuals served; and amend KRS 26A.012 to conform.

HB 119 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS/FN - Delete the original provisions of the bill, create new sections of KRS Chapter 7, KRS Chapter 12.450 to 12.465, and KRS Chapter 26A to ensure that Kentuckians with disabilities and their families enjoy full partnership in all programs, services, and activities throughout the Commonwealth; provide equal opportunity for membership on any board, task force, or commission consistent with and to the extent of the Federal American with Disabilities Act; provide that governmental entities establish staff development training to promote disability awareness; make conforming amendments.
