AN ACT relating to animal control surtax.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 139 to levy a 1% sales tax surcharge on pet food; amend KRS 139.020, 139.050, 139.220, 139.230, 139.560, and 139.570 to conform; amend KRS 258.119 to deposit the pet food surtax to the animal control and care fund and provide for 50% of the moneys in the fund to be distributed to counties that have an established animal control and care program or an approved plan to establish an animal control and care program and 50% of the moneys to be used to support statewide programs related to animal control and care.
