HB 75 (BR 313) - J. Barrows

     AN ACT relating to medical records.
     Amend KRS 422.317, relating to medical records, to include records generated as the result of a medical examination, test, or diagnostic procedure performed on a person who is not a patient of the medical provider performing the procedure, and to provide a civil penalty for noncompliance with the statute.

HB 75 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Provide details for the process by which the patient obtains the medical records; limit the civil penalty.
     HFA (1, B. Yonts) - Amend to add Cabinet for Families and Children access to records involving child abuse or adult abuse.
     HFA (2, B. Yonts) - Retain original provisions; insert provision providing that medical records be sent if requested and that medical records be certified if requested.
     HFA (3, B. Yonts) - Retain original provisions; insert provision providing that medical records be sent if requested and that medical records be certified if requested.
     HFA (4, J. Barrows) - Specify that the Act's provisions do not limit the ability of the Cabinet for Families and Children to inspect and copy records.
