Petition the United States Department of Health and Human Services to curtail the advertisement of prescription drugs in newspapers, magazines, radio, and telecommunications targeted to the public at large; urge the department to place a two-year moratorium on such advertising, except in mailings and publications targeted to medical doctors and scientists; urge the department to study the impact of the moratorium and extend its application if savings in the costs of prescription drugs occur and are passed to the consumer; request that the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmits copies to the Secretary of the Department and the Kentucky Congressional delegation.
