Urge the Council on Postsecondary Education to implement the recommendations of the State Auditor relating to the research challenge trust funds and the regional excellence trust funds.
HR 1 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Request the Council on Postsecondary Education to approve the uses of research challenge trust funds and the regional university trust funds toward stated goals; to set criteria to establish endowed professorships and criteria for endowed chairs and the minimum amount for funding; to exclude state and university affiliated sources of funding as eligible state matches; to require detailed university reports of the uses of state matching funds; and to report quarterly to the Education Committees of the General Assembly beginning January 2002.
