SB 128/HM (BR 888) - V. McGaha, B. Jackson
AN ACT relating to health insurance.
Create a new section of Subtitle 17A of KRS Chapter 304, the insurance code, requiring all health benefit plans to provide coverage of the full cost of one hearing aid per hearing impaired ear up to $1000 every 36 months for hearing aids for insured individuals under 18 years of age; provide that hearing aids shall be provided by a hearing instrument specialist licensed under KRS Chapter 334.
SB 128 - AMENDMENTS
HFA (1, R. Damron) - Amend to provide that a health benefit plan shall not be required to pay a claim filed by its insured for the cost of hearing aids if less than 3 years before the insured filed the claim the insured received benefits for hearing aid coverage under a health benefit plan.
HFA (2, J. Hoover) - Amend to provide that the coverage is subject to all applicable co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and out-of-pocket limits.
