HB 215 (BR 1332) - S. Riggs, R. Mobley, B. Smith
AN ACT relating to the compensation of elected city officials.
Amend KRS 83A.075 to specify that by virtue of their services on statewide boards, authorities, and commissions, elected city officials have duties and jurisdiction that are coextensive with that of the Commonwealth within the meaning of Section 246 of the Constitution of Kentucky; delete reference to 1949 base year salary limits for mayors; amend KRS 83A.070 to allow the legislative body of a city of the second to the fifth class to declare that the office of mayor is a full-time executive and administrative office and to set the mayor's compensation according to the specified minimum amounts listed.
HB 215 - AMENDMENTS
HCA (1, S. Riggs) - Delete the words "executive and administrative" in new language referring to the classification of mayor as full-time by a city legislative body.
HFA (1/Title, K. Upchurch) - Make title amendment.
HFA (2, K. Upchurch) - Increase maximum allowable salary for city utility commission members from $2,400 to $3,600 annually.
HFA (3, G. Lindsay) - Allow rather than require a legislative body in cities of the second to fifth class to set a minimum compensation level for the office of mayor.
