HB 559/LM (BR 266) - D. Horlander, A. Arnold, J. Barrows, L. Clark, P. Clark, J. Jenkins, M. Marzian, C. Miller

     AN ACT relating to elections.
     Amend KRS 117.055 to require reporting on any precinct exceeding 700 votes cast in the last regular election, provide that the State Board of Elections may, in its discretion, withhold from a county the expenses of any election containing more than 1500 registered voters, excluding precincts using optical scan voting machines and those periods of time that the precinct boundaries are frozen under KRS 117.056; amend KRS 117.355 to delete reporting to the Registry of Election Finance, and provide for the reports under KRS 117.275(4) to be sent to the State Board of Elections within 30 days of any primary or general election.

     SCS/LM - Retain original provisions; amend KRS 117.066 to permit the use of supplemental paper ballots in the instance of a precinct with a small number of voters; provide for application to State Board of Elections; provide for counting of ballots as provided by KRS 117.275(8); amend KRS 118.215 to permit supplemental paper ballots for use in the case of a small precinct; EMERGENCY.
