AN ACT relating to prevailing wage.
     Amend KRS 337.520 to require the commissioner or authorized representative to conduct an annual wage survey to gather information for the purpose of making a prevailing wage determination for a locality; require the commissioner to encourage voluntary submission of wage data from contractors, contractor associations, labor organizations, public officials and other interested parties; require the commissioner to promulgate administrative regulations to carry out the survey process; require the commissioner to set the survey period and provide that wage determinations based on the survey shall remain in effect until superseded; require the commissioner or authorized representative to mail a wage survey to all known contractors, contractor associations, labor organizations, public officials and other interested parties in a locality; provides for an initial survey and a follow-up survey if the commissioner determines there is insufficient data to make a wage determination; require the commissioner to hold a public hearing in the locality only after the second survey, if the commissioner determines there is insufficient data on which to make a wage determination; require the commissioner to provide a statement about any information not used to prepare the survey results; permit the commissioner to meet with interested parties to discuss the survey results prior to releasing the wage determination for a locality; amend KRS 337.522 to require a public hearing only after the second attempt to obtain sufficient wage data in a locality; amend KRS 337.505 to conform.
